A motorist fleeing from area law enforcement Monday morning ended with a crash on U.S. Route 23 near the Ross/Pickaway County line.
State troopers say they received a call about a vehicle driving wrecklessly, having reportedly hit a guardrail while southbound on US 23. The motorist then turned around heading northbound on Route 23 when state patrol troopers got behind him with emergency lights on, but the driver did not stop.
The vehicle then hit another car, with the fleeing vehicle going off the left side of roadway, hitting a drain. The driver kept going .. but came to a stop three miles into Pickaway County.
As the car caught fire, the driver fled from the vehicle on foot. The driver, identified as Carlos Bush of Columbus, was caught and arrested. The driver refused treatment and there were no injuries to the other driver of the vehicle hit on US 23.
The highway was closed for a couple of hours, but since reopened.
