Chillicothe Almost Ready for $37M Budget

Chillicothe Almost Ready for $37M Budget

Auditor Luke Feeney dominated the short session with his additional comments on an almost-finished budget that will be a little smaller than 2013's - only $37 million.

Finalizing police and fire capital budgets, and possibly a debt payment, are what remains before council will pass the budget next week.

Since this is a new term of council, the budget must be passed after member are sworn in for 2014.  That swearing-in will happen noon December 31st in the Ross County courthouse, so council will meet noon January 1st for their first session of the year.

The only council member not returning is Jeremy Siberell, who was elected city treasurer.  He is replaced by William Showman for the Fifth Ward.

Mayor Everson also announced that trash pickup will continue on-schedule Christmas day, but leaf pickup will pause for the holiday.  Live Christmas tree pickup will begin January 6th.
