Investigators continue to look into what caused the historic Emmitt House to burn down Monday night. It leaves a giant hole in the middle of Waverly. So far a search for the cause of the fire has come up empty.
State Fire Marshal's office spokesman Michael Duchesne says investigators want to talk with witnesses of the fire and if they might have video of the early stages of the fire starting.
The restaurant was open and people were inside dining and getting ready to watch the BCS national championship game when the fire started. Unofficial damage estimates are between one-and-a-half and two million dollars.
