Activities will take place at the Pickaway County Fairgrounds over the weekend ahead of Monday's official opening. Fairboard President Bob Black said they want to always maintain the agriculture theme.
"We try to let all the farm equipment dealers that want to come in ... set up a display; I want them to come and do that if they will," said Black. "To me, that makes it a county fair."
Black said they haven't added many new buildings on the fairgrounds over the last few years, but they are still working on it: "We're still working on trying to get a building built down there, a big complex that would take the whole hog arena, show arena, and make that under one big complex, but we haven't gotten quite enough money to do that yet."
Harness racing and the Adelphi Band are among Saturday's entertainment, with more harness racing and the Pumpkin Show Band on Sunday.
The fair officially opens at 6pm, Monday.
