Pike Couple Arrested for Taking Drugs to Jail

A Pike County couple has been arrested for trying to smuggle illegal drugs into the Scioto County Jail.

26-year-old Cody W. Cox and 24-year-old Lindsay Dawn Kneisley, both of Tennyson Road, Piketon, had carried illegal drugs into the Scioto County Jail.

Cox and Kneisley both removed packages from inside their bodies that contained the drugs, Naloxone and Suboxone, which are both commonly used in the treatment of opiate dependency.  Both Cox and Kneisley also possessed tobacco, while Cox also possessed a small amount of suspected marijuana.

Cox and Kneisley were charged with Illegal Conveyance of Drugs and Prohibited Items into a Detention Facility and both are currently waiting to stand trial in Scioto County Common Pleas Court for allegedly committing the same offense at the Scioto County Jail in the past.

Cox also currently has an indictment warrant for his arrest, which had been issued by the Ross County Common Pleas Court for allegedly committing a felony drug offense.
