A few changes have been made in the Ross County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff George Lavender told Clear Channel News Monday morning that Colonel T.J. Hollis has been reclassified as "chief deputy", which makes him the Lavender's second-in-command. The chief deputy position has not been used under Lavender's administration, instead using the rank of colonel.
Another recent hire was to bring Emily Schmidt to the sheriff's office as the new administrative assistant. Lavender says that position will carry more responsibility that preview assistants, which will have Schmidt attending a number of public events on behalf of Lavender.
Schmidt comes to the sheriff's office from the Chillicothe-Ross Chamber of Commerce.
