According to a published report in the Jackson County Times-Journal, remaining SEOAL members Jackson, Gallia Academy, Warren and Logan are seeking membership into the Tri Valley Conference.
Following the conclusion of the next academic year, the conference loses current member Portsmouth, which will leave the SEOAL to become a member of the Ohio Valley Conference.
Prior to this apparent exodus, recent departures from the SEOAL included Chillicothe, Ironton and Zanesville.
Wellston and Vinton County are among the TVC schools, along with Athens, Alexander, Nelsonville-York and Meigs.
